Terms of Service

1. What the Service does

The Service takes a CV you upload and a job description you paste, and uses third-party large language models to produce a tailored CV and cover letter. You control your source CV and the job description. The Service reframes your existing content in the role's vocabulary, it does not invent experience, skills, employers, dates, or metrics.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to form a binding contract in your country to use the Service. By signing up you confirm you meet both conditions.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including anything done by people you give your credentials to.
• Sign up with an email you actually control. Some features (password reset, important notices) rely on that address.
• You may sign in with Google if you prefer. We only receive your email address, name, and avatar URL from Google.
• You can delete your account and every resume you uploaded at any time from the Account page, which also removes every generation produced under your account.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

• Generate CVs or cover letters for people you are not authorized to represent.
• Submit false credentials or misrepresent your experience to employers.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell access to the Service, including scraping the sample gallery.
• Abuse the rate limits, attempt to circumvent paid features, or cause disproportionate load.
• Upload content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or contains malware.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Credits, payments, and refunds

• New accounts receive 3 free credits. 1 credit = 1 tailored CV + cover letter generation. Match scoring is free and does not consume credits.
• Credit top-ups are processed in INR by Razorpay. Accepted methods: UPI, cards, net banking, wallets. International cards are accepted at the rates shown by your bank.
• Credits do not expire and have no cash value.
• If a generation fails for a reason that is our fault (server error, malformed output), the credit is automatically refunded to your account. If a generation succeeds but you're unhappy with the content, contact vaibhav.kadam@cvcl.app within 7 days and we'll review it.
• Cash refunds for unused purchased credits are considered case-by-case and processed through Razorpay within 7 business days of approval.

6. Content you provide

You keep all rights to the CV content you upload, the job descriptions you paste, and the generated output. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content only as needed to operate the Service (store it, render it, and send relevant parts to our LLM provider for generation). We do not train models on your content.

7. Third-party services

The Service sends prompts and your CV content to OpenAI for generation, to Razorpay for payment processing, and to SendGrid for transactional email. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or changes on their side.

8. AI output, no warranties of accuracy

Large language models can misunderstand context, produce factually wrong text, or drop parts of your CV. You are responsible for reviewing every generated CV and cover letter before sending it to anyone. The Service is a drafting aid, not a reviewer. We strongly encourage you to read the output end-to-end.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, or be error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, for any cause whatsoever, shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the six months preceding the event that gave rise to the claim, or ₹2,500, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, including lost wages, missed job offers, or lost business opportunities.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms or for activity that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent or abusive. On termination, provisions that by their nature should survive (payments owed, limitations of liability, disputes) survive.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email to the address on your account at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that period means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we both consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Maharashtra, India for any dispute arising under these Terms, except that either party may seek urgent injunctive relief in any appropriate court.
